APEX extend services for customers through continued investment in technology solutions
Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, announced today APEX Engineering Services, a leading supplier of technical services to the construction industry worldwide, is the first customer in the UK to purchase the Leica BLK2GO handheld imaging scanner.
APEX recently received its order of the new BLK2GO, enabling the firm’s surveyors to carry out a variety of existing and new tasks quicker and more efficiently. The BLK2GO has also opened new access routes to other markets through new sectors/projects, including the film industry, public safety and forensics.
“Continuous investment and development of our methodologies, technology and staff have played a vital role in APEX Engineering Services’ growth,” said APEX Senior Survey Manager Kurt Robertson. “Our commitment is to lead with technological innovation in order to add value to our customers and fulfil their projects on time and on budget.”
The BLK2GO is a wireless handheld imaging laser scanner that seamlessly captures 3D environments while the user is in motion. The device continuously creates a digital representation of reality in the form of 3D point clouds. The BLK2GO’s compact and handheld design allows a much greater degree of mobility, as well as access to spaces and objects that may have been difficult or impossible to scan before. With simple, one-button operation and a lightweight design, it is easy to use for professional and casual users alike.
“APEX has been a long-term loyal, Leica Geosystems customer with a real emphasis on how it best delivers services to customers. Through regular consultation, APEX looks at how to push the boundaries with new technologies and workflows,” said Leica Geosystems UK Business Partnerships Manager Graham Sharp. “The firm’s purchase of the BLK2GO adds to its extensive portfolio of Leica Geosystems solutions. This investment further achieves not only APEX’s goals but also those of its customers and provides for further growth.
