As multiple wildfires rage across California International Firefighter wishes to express its condolences to those who have lost loved ones, sadness for those who have seen their properties and sometimes neighbourhoods destroyed and admiration for the Firefighters and the many people who have assisted in working to halt the terrible fire spread at so many locations and on so many fronts.
At the time of writing, around 250,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes due to the imminent threat caused by a number of wildfires burning in the sunshine state.
There have been at least 31 deaths as a result of the fire and it is estimated that more than two hundred people remain unaccounted for as homes and townships have been razed to the ground.
The town of Paradise was destroyed by one fire with Firefighters and other officials having to sift through the remains of 6,700 homes.
The sheer scale of the fires has seen resources drawn from across the USA. It is reported that the Governor of California, Jerry Brown, has urged US President Donald Trump to declare a Major Disaster in order to release federal funding to assist in operations and recovery.
