Message from George Pearson, Regional Director West Africa at Afrocet Montgomery
I wanted to reach out personally to our community of security, fire & safety professionals to provide an update on Securex West Africa 2020.
We are hugely disappointed to notify you that our exhibition this year will no longer be going ahead.
As you’ll know, the global COVID-19 crisis has caused many unprecedented challenges for the industry this year and with the health and safety of our partners, visitors and participants our top priority, we felt the wisest decision would be to cancel Securex West Africa altogether this year.
When we originally postponed the event to the end of June, we had hoped this would be enough time for the market to recover, however this has not been the case. While Nigeria is easing lockdown in light of heavy economic burdens, social distancing to 2m, flight restrictions and an indefinite ban on all large scale events remain in place and there is currently no information on when this will be lifted.
The next edition of Securex West Africa will now take place 16 – 17 March 2021, at the Landmark Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
Moving forward, we’ll be focusing our efforts on finding the best possible ways to keep our community connected, engaged and inspired during these difficult times.
If you have any questions, you can reach out to a team member here.
Once again, we are sad to resort to cancellation but hopefully, you can understand that given the global crisis, this is the only responsible course of action. Hopefully, you’ll be able to join us next year for an unforgettable industry event! In the meantime, we wish you well and stay safe.
