This year Godiva is celebrating eighty years as a fire pump manufacturer, from 1937 the company has been designing and building life-saving fire pumps, renowned for their reliability and innovation.
In the early 1960s Godiva introduced the UMP, the first multi-pressure pump for rear or mid-mounting, with the unique design of two impellers on one shaft.
Today’s successor to the UMP, is the Prima, designed to meet EN1028 requirements across a range of four models, 2010, 3010, 4010 and 6010, it includes many beneficial features for the fire fighter.
Godiva have always been keen to introduce innovative new technologies, and the introduction in the early 2000s of Compressed Air Foam Systems (CAFS) as a fire fighting medium is typical of this innovation. CAFS is a medium that introduces increased efficiency and effectiveness to the frontline fire fighter.
In 2017 this innovation continues with the latest version of the Prima SmartCAFS – the Prima pump with integrated CAFS – now available with UltraView control module. The UltraView is a state of art electronic display and control software for the compressed air foam discharge of the pump. The display features user-friendly icons for quick and easy understanding of the system status, plain text warnings and on-screen calibration tutorials. Up to ten pre-set foam mixtures can be selected for immediate discharge of the most suitable mixture.
Recently introduced is the KP pump, a pump designed for the smaller, more compact vehicle that many fire services are increasingly using. The KP performance is rated as an EN1028 single pressure pump at 1500 l/min at 10 bar and as a multi-pressure pump at 1500 l/min at 10 bar for normal pressure and 250 l/min at 40 bar for high pressure.
For eighty years the Godiva brand has been, and always will be, based solidly on engineering intellect, determined and resourceful manufacturing and consistent desire to serve the end user – the fire service.
