RSPCA and fire crews rescue dog from drain and reunite him with his owner
A dog needed a helping paw after escaping from his home and falling down a 6ft-deep drain.
RSPCA Inspector Dave Holgate was called to Springwood Avenue, Bradford, on Saturday (1 February) after locals were alerted to the dog’s plight after hearing barking.
He said: “The poor dog was barking and people in the area heard him and found him stuck at the bottom of the drain.
“It looks as though someone had removed the drain cover and he fell into the hole while he was straying after escaping from his home.
“Luckily a crew from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service was able to help me get him out of the hole safely and thankfully he wasn’t injured.”
Tyson was microchipped and hadn’t gone far – so Dave was able to quickly return him home and reunite him with his owners who were relieved to have him back.
