The increase in natural disasters has already noticeably changed the daily lives of many aid and rescue workers. In addition, there was the Corona pandemic and the humanitarian emergencies caused by political conflicts – most recently as a result of the Russian war on Ukraine.
Given the current challenges, the topics of INTERSCHUTZ are more relevant than ever before. One thousand companies from 50 countries as well as the participating associations and organizations will present the solutions for the challenges of our time. This makes it all the more important for them all to meet and exchange ideas at INTERSCHUTZ in Hanover in June, to maintain and expand important networks and to establish new ones.
Highlights of INTERSCHUTZ 2022:
Digitalization: The main theme of INTERSCHUTZ 2022 is ‘Teams, Tactics, Technology – Connected for Protection and Rescue’. The topic of digitalization is visible in many places at the event; in Hall 16 in particular, companies and research institutions will be showing solutions for the digital networking of systems and actors*.
Firefighting technology: 200 companies from the firefighting technology sector will be showing their innovations. First and foremost is the industry leader Rosenbauer, which will demonstrate the world’s first fully electric turntable ladder at INTERSCHUTZ. The Berlin Fire Department will report live on its experiences with the first electric firefighting and rescue vehicle, the eLHF.
Civil protection is the focus of the trade show. In addition to the range of services offered by civil protection, exhibitors will also show equipment and technical aids such as emergency shelters and tents, mobile hospitals or equipment for flood and water protection. Cross-border cooperation in civil protection and extreme weather situations will also be the focus of the CP Symposium, which will be held at INTERSCHUTZ on June 21 and 22, 2021.
Virtual disaster scenarios: For the first time, a combination of real and virtual displays will allow visitors to literally experience different scenarios up close. These can include everyday accidents as well as current or conceivable disasters and crises. With the help of modern media technology, participants are integrated into the presentation.
In the Smart Public Safety Hub various companies connect and demonstrate joint interdisciplinary application scenarios – such as the use of drones for situation assessment or the digital description and analysis of deployment sites on a 2/3/4-dimensional scale.
German Fire Service Day: Parallel to INTERSCHUTZ, the DFV is organizing the 29th German Fire Service Day, which will attract many more firefighting fans to Hannover. The event’s motto is ‘Safety.Security.Life’.
Competitions and live training courses: The ‘S-Gard-Safetytour’, the ‘Holmatro Rescue Challenge’ and also the ‘Firefit Championships Europe’ will provide even more action and excitement during the show.
