First responders and related personnel need access to the latest training, the best equipment and the newest technology available in order to do their jobs effectively. Enter INTERSCHUTZ USA!
INTERSCHUTZ USA, taking place Oct. 13-17, 2020, in Philadelphia, is committed to becoming the most comprehensive show in the US for firefighters, fire rescue personnel and EMS personnel.
The world’s best in education and training
In addition to three full days of exhibits featuring fire service manufacturers, providers and resources from the U.S. and around the world, the show contains Hands-On Training opportunities, pre-conference training intensives, three days of comprehensive conference sessions, product demonstrations and networking opportunities available to all attendees.
All training opportunities are vetted by INTERSCHUTZ USA’s Conference Advisory Board, whose members represent 12 states and four countries. Full conference sessions, which were made public in February 2020, are broken into content tracks, including Health & Wellness, an Instructor Track powered by the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI), Diversity & Inclusion, EMS, Technology, Recruitment & Retention, Incident Management and Leadership. Hands-On Training components and pre-conference sessions are scheduled to become public by the end of April 2020. Registration for both will open then, as well.
As Show Manager Rachel Lesczynski states, “INTERSCHUTZ USA’s value proposition is to bring the global fire service perspective to the U.S. It is vital that we engage fire service leadership from around the world, not only to identify topics and need but also to secure the appropriate instructors. The levels of interest in taking part in this new event have been overwhelming; I cannot thank the Conference Advisory Board, Philadelphia Commissioner Adam Thiel and the global INTERSCHUTZ family enough for their support.”
International Perspectives and EMS
Unlike most U.S.-based fire rescue events, INTERSCHUTZ USA will provide expertise and perspectives from around the world on these common fire service topics. By doing this, the show aims to provide the opportunity for broader views and conversations among a global fire service united in protecting its citizenry.
Similarly, INTERSCHUTZ USA will have both dedicated EMS/Rescue and clinical EMS education tracks. With such a high percentage of fire service responses being medically related, the majority of U.S. fire rescue events fail to address this in their curriculum. INTERSCHUTZ USA changes that paradigm.
The leading brand in fire and rescue
INTERSCHUTZ USA is the most recent addition to the INTERSCHUTZ Worldwide portfolio, which includes AFAC (Australia), CEFE (China) and REAS (Italy). Audiences around the world have enjoyed the unique emotional experience, personal encounters and feeling of common purpose provided by INTERSCHUTZ (Germany), the world’s largest trade show for fire and rescue services, for over 50 years. Taking place every five years in Hannover, Germany, INTERSCHUTZ (Germany) attracts a unique mix of commercial and non-commercial exhibitors. Companies unveil their latest innovations at the show, while fire and rescue service professionals show the latest in equipment and systems in action on an outdoor demonstration ground.
Building on a Strong History
Philadelphia, where the first American volunteer fire company under Ben Franklin was founded, provides the perfect home for INTERSCHUTZ USA. Once this history was factored into the city’s world-class features – the NFL’s Eagles, the NHL’s Flyers, phenomenal shopping and much more – and the support the Philadelphia fire community offered, the choice was easy. Adam Thiel, Fire Commissioner of the Philadelphia Fire Department speaks to this: “Since 1736, the Philadelphia Fire Department has been dedicated to safety, innovation and best practices, and we look forward to INTERSCHUTZ USA and all it has to offer in October 2020.”
INTERSCHUTZ USA looks to connect the US fire service with fire and rescue communities around the globe. Show organizers hope to respect the traditions of the U.S. fire service, demonstrate firefighter safety solutions that incorporate current and emerging strategies and technologies in the U.S. and introduce what other industry experts and visionaries are doing globally.
