The image was taken at Nuremberg International Airport in Germany who have taken delivery of these aircraft rescue stairs manufactured by Mallaghan Engineering Limited in Northern Ireland. Mallaghan® are leading international suppliers of airport ground support vehicles and specialist equipment – but this is their first venture into the growing aircraft fire & rescue sector with these specific aircraft rescue stairs extending to 5.8 metres high. The innovative step section features hydraulic telescopic stairs with a 2.3-metre-wide platform surface. The platform has two media deliveries fed by a telescopic pipe and hose line plus an auxiliary power feed from the trucks onboard generator. This specific rescue vehicle is based on a Mercedes Benz Atego 4×2 chassis, featuring automatic transmission, two equipment lockers and 5 x stabilizing feet for use on uneven ground surfaces.
