It is hard to believe that this is Issue 50 of International Fire Fighter, it only seems like yesterday that we were taking the tentative steps to launching it. At the time International Fire Fighter became our third title, behind International Fire Protection and Asia Pacific Fire – but it is no longer the ‘new kid on the block’ as, since its launch in January, Gulf Fire has taken that title. Thank you all for your continued support, it is an exciting publication to be involved with and the whole team at MDM Publishing are very proud of International Fire Fighter – here’s to the next 50!
There are a number of firsts in this special issue – a black and white cover image and an IFF Comment dedicated to a remarkable individual. I hope you enjoy learning about this inspirational firefighter.
As always we bring you an issue packed full of in-depth and interesting editorial, from the latest industry news and product announcements as well as specialist feature articles, you will not be disappointed.
With eleven feature articles and a full and comprehensive ‘Buyer’s Guide’ on PPE, we are sure that you will find the issue interesting and informative.
Tom Guldner provides us with the second and final part of his article ‘Liquid natural gas (LNG) training for first responders’, Pablo Boj gives us an interesting lesson on firefighting techniques with his article ‘Offensive Fire Attack: Variables that interfere with the fire gases outlet’ and Sina Seiz presents ‘Latest glove technology and what is important in gloves’ looking at what makes the perfect glove and how new technology is helping to revolutionise hand protection.
We hope you enjoy this edition.
A very special rescue.
