MetalCraft Marine recently delivered a new Firestorm 50 fire boat to the Alexandria Fire Department in Virginia USA. The company, based in Cape Vincent, New York and Kingston Ontario are manufacturers of High Speed Patrol Boats, Fire Boats, Rescue Boats, and Work Boats.
The FireStorm 50 supplied to Alexandria has the hull number 564 and is 50’ (15m) long and 15’10” (4.5m) wide and has a displacement of 45,000lb (20400kg).
It is powered by two CAT C-18 engines which deliver 915hp and has two Rolls Royce FF37 jets with a top speed of 44 knots.
The boat is fitted with two Hale 3500 fire pumps with four monitors and four 5” Stortz fittings. The pumps are capable of delivering 7400 GPM (19360 litres).
