7 new special purpose vehicles manufactured by Polish company WISS have been delivered to Slovakian Petroservis. The vehicles are protecting buildings, personnel and special facilities of two nuclear power plants. In total the company from Bielsko-Biała have delivered to Slovakia over 550 vehicles.
As per contract 4 new vehicles were delivered to the power plant in Mechovce and 3 others to Jaslovskie Bohunice.
All vehicles are built on Scania chassis and geared with modern fire and rescue equipment. The first of the ordered cars is based on the Scania P320 4×2 drive. The car has a double cab 2 + 4 and metal buildings. It is equipped with a water tank with a capacity of 3,000 liters, the pump Ruberg R40, generating high-pressure and gun JMWGT 3200 for feeding extinguishing agents.
For the production of two more vehicles Scania P450 chassis and 8×4 drive were used. The first model is geared with a water tank with a capacity of 6,000 liters, a foam tank with a capacity of 1,000 liters and 1600 kg CO2. The car also has Ruberg Euroline pump and a snow aggregate with the electric reel. The second model is equipped with a water tank with a capacity of 8,000 liters and foam tank 1,000 liters and CO2 – 1000 kg. The rescue team will use also Ruberg Euroline dual-band pump and the aggregate with an electric reel.
Other special vehicles are built on the basis of Scania P410 and 6×4 drive. All vehicles have a cabin
1 + 2, and metal buildings with some elements made of composite. Cars are equipped with water tanks (vol. 8,000, or 6,000 liters – depending on the model), tanks 1,000 liters of foam and powder tanks (2,000 or 1,000 kg). Rescuers will have access to the CO2 tanks – 1,600 kg, and the gas tank FE36 – 200 kg.
This is not the first contract signed with our southern neighbors. Last year, the company WISS – Wawrzaszek Inżynieria Samochodów Specjalnych (Special Vehicles Engineering), completed delivery of 550 special vehicles for Slovak firefighters. It was the largest single order in the history of the company.
WISS distributes its vehicles, among others, to Estonia, Bulgaria, Morocco, Romania, Germany and Slovakia. In total to 46 countries all over the world.
