Scott Safety’s three-part showcase at INTERSCHUTZ 2015 (8th – 13th June) is evidence of the company’s determination to be the leading innovator in equipment for firefighters and first responders. Already a global leader in the design, manufacture and supply of respiratory protective equipment, recently Scott Safety acquired two companies whose design, technology and product creation capabilities complement and enhance those of Scott Safety: thermal imaging company ISG and gas detection specialist IST Group (GMI, Oldham, Simtronics and Detcon).
A private viewing …
“The Firefighter of the Future showcase is something new” said Kim Henry, Director of Growth Initiatives. “Successful innovation is all about listening to clients and stakeholders and developing products that solve their greatest challenges. We are inviting leading firefighting officers and other key stakeholders to visit and share in our newest thinking, see our latest key concepts.”
… and a public showcase
Scott Safety’s product stand will demonstrate how it meets today’s firefighting needs with reliable products that reduce user burden and incorporate real-time telemetry, situational intelligence and communications in hazardous environments.
New product developments and Realtime Intelligence
Innovation will be very much on show. As well as demonstrating it’s recently released Propak Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Scott Safety will be also be showcasing some highly anticipated new products for the first time; The innovative 379 Bar cylinder, an exciting new range of portable gas detection products from GMI and Oldham and the X380N thermal imager with ISG Technology.
It is also expected that more firefighting equipment will become wireless compatible and join ‘the internet of things’ where devices are linked together through the cloud. Items including gas detectors and thermal imaging cameras could communicate with each other. Telemetry is driving innovation in breathing apparatus (BA) and also in man down alarms, air pressure information and monitoring, and evacuation signals.
