Over the last couple of months, GESA’s Global South Advisory Council (AC) has discussed the issue of donations – donations of equipment, gear and vehicles to underserved communities around the world. The AC looked at a wide variety of issues, touching all parts of the donations ecosystem:
- Sources of donated gear and equipment
- Frequency of donations
- Usefulness of donated gear
- Ease of maintenance of donated gear
- Training/instruction that accompanies donations
- Process of receiving donated gear
From this list, we created a short, comprehensive survey, through which ES practitioners around the world can share their experiences with ES equipment donations they’ve received. This 15-question survey is aimed at uncovering the biggest challenges found in the current donor-to-department process so that we may work to build a more efficient and resilient donations pipeline.
We are always eager to learn from folks on the ground. Please follow this link to contribute your insights: forms.gle/vZcr6mDAdVtf4ESj7. We also encourage you to share the survey with practitioners in your network. The more holistic picture we can get, the better!
