Training Specialties, Inc. (TSI) is a collective of Emergency Response Professionals who have been in business since 1997. Originally starting out as a new-delivery fire-apparatus trainer for several notable companies, TSI has become a verified and strong industrial emergency response equipment supplier as well. TSI supplies equipment such as firefighting nozzles, hose, firefighting foam, fire apparatus, portable fire pumps and manifolds along with fixed and semi-fixed firefighting systems for bulk storage facilities and refineries around the globe.
TSI has grown over the years and employs several state and federally recognized Fire and EMS service instructors who have a combined experience of more than 300 years. Our entire staff have been in the emergency response arena collectively serving in various roles up to and including Chief Officer of some of the busiest departments in the US. With the experience of our team and years of dedicated service to their communities they bring with them the ability to deliver the message and course content you would expect.
TSI has been designing courses to be delivered to your groups that can accommodate the ever trying times of the Covid-19 pandemic and are doing everything they can to work with your health and safety officials and adhere to the guidelines you may have in place to practise social distancing and deliver the content and perform the skills assessments needed to complete the courses and certify your students. These courses meet or exceed the minimum requirements set forth by such agencies as NFPA Pro Board and IFSAC (International Fire Service Accreditation Congress).

TSI is also a notable supplier of emergency-response equipment from various manufacturers and has successfully been awarded several large consulting projects that included the design, manufacturing and delivery of large-scale water-flow equipment (aka Big Water). One of the company’s largest projects to date was designing a portable system to extinguish a 300ft-diameter full-surface crude-oil storage tank fire using the NFPA Type III (over-the-top) required flow of more than 18,000 gallons per minute. This flow was achieved using multiple portable trailer-mounted fire pumps, several miles of large-diameter 12in hose (305mm), foam injection systems, delivery devices and, most importantly, the training of the equipment using designed scenarios.
TSI also provides pre-planning services, which entails a team member visiting your facility and working with your emergency-response managers to utilize best industry practices as well as NFPA parameters to develop response plans ranging from small leaks to full-scale process unit fires. TSI also provides Standard Operating Procedure’s or Standard Operating Guidelines catered to your facility or local jurisdiction and can work with you designing plans around your capabilities.
