Angloco (UK) has delivered two unique light foam tenders to the Alderney Airport Fire Service in the Channel Islands – UK. Governed by a low-height fire station restriction, Angloco worked with the customer to deliver these compact, highly manoeuvrable fire-fighting vehicles based on MAN TGM 13.290 4×4 chassis.
These identical trucks feature a 290 hp diesel engine, fully automatic transmission and the chassis manufacturer’s double-cab featuring seating for a driver and four crew complete with rear seats fitted with SCBA mountings. The co-polymer body features a five locker arrangement with integrated tanks holding 2,400 litres of water and 390 litres of foam in addition to a 68 litre capacity dry powder extinguishing unit.
As a result of height constraints, each vehicle features a remote controlled bumper mounted monitor, which is supplied by a 2,500 lpm multi-pressure pump. Other features include a high pressure hose reel, two regulated and two un-regulated side-line deliveries, under-truck protection nozzles, front mounted winch, side scene lighting, body mounted fire-fighting media level warning lights and a telescopic floodlighting mast.
