Waterous Company has been manufacturing products in South St. Paul, Minnesota since 1886. Waterous has continued to develop revolutionary products for firefighting and industrial applications. From constructing the first gasoline-engine-driven fire pump in 1898 to the most efficient compressed air foam systems (CAFS) in the world today; Waterous has maintained a legacy of supporting the global fire service and industry with fire pumps, foam and compressed air foam systems that meet international demand.
Many of Waterous’ developments were industry firsts. Flame Plated Impeller hubs provide four to five times more life expectancy of the hub of the impeller. Labyrinth-Style Wear Rings appreciably restrict recirculation and improve overall efficiency and longevity of the wear ring. Chain-Drive Transmission provides the smoothest, quietest and most efficient transfer of power from the vehicle’s driveline to the fire pump. Separable impeller shaft assembly allows for the removal of the pump from the transmission without having to remove both items from the apparatus.
Our mission statement, “Waterous will serve the global marketplace by providing innovative products that perform their intended functions safely, reliably and at a competitive price by continuously improving our processes, products and service.”
