A pioneering North West hose manufacturer is aiming to increase its business flow – with a brand new website.
Richards Hose, of Roman Way, Ribbleton, Preston is world famous for making industrial hoses and couplings for everything from firefighting equipment and water irrigation hoses to lay flat hoses for the shipping, mining and construction industries world-wide – they even make the power hoses for Flyboarding – the booming jet pack taking the world of watersports by storm.
Now the 100 year old company, headed by Managing Director Trevor Hatton, has launched a new website www.richardshose.com which is up and running and is now as responsive as their customer service.
The new site was designed with the help of Blackpool – based company Zestisbest.
Explaining the reasons for the re-vamp, MD Trevor said: “It’s a complicated digital world these days. Research shows that more than one in every two ‘first searches’ are now done on a smart phone or tablet. We wanted to address this to improve the user experience for our customers and those wishing to find out more about what we do.
“We’ve focused on the site navigation, making it easy to use, and ensured that the site works seamlessly across all platforms and devices There’s nothing worse than trying to ‘pinch and zoom’ to find information on a website that isn’t responsive to the device on which it is viewed. Our customers are busy people and we understand that their time is precious.”
The company brand positioning is also moving away from its roots in firefighting, changing the site address from www.richardsfire.co.uk to www.richardshose.com
“We supply such a diverse range of clients from firefighting, passenger shipping, agriculture and even Flyboarding enthusiasts,” added Trevor. “To just use ‘fire’ in our brand identity simply wasn’t reflective of our business anymore. It is all about making our customers lives easy. We need to move forward as web technology advances”.
The new site features product summaries along with more detailed PDF data sheets which customers can view online, print or download.
