The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and Fire Department Coffee teamed up to wake up the New Year with free coffee. The NVFC/Fire Department Coffee Giveaway received over 200 entries from firefighters across the nation. Everyone who entered received a 20 percent off discount code to use at www.firedeptcoffee.com between January 23 and February 10, 2017.
Congratulations to Levi Diehl of Bliss Fire District in Bliss, ID, who won the grand prize of six pounds of Fire Department Coffee, coffee mug, and tee-shirt. Wanda Pearce Thomas of the Central Fire Department in Punxsutawney, PA, and Vern Losh of Healdsburg, CA, will receive the second place prize of one pound of coffee each. The winners were randomly selected from all entries received.
Coffee is an important part of many firefighters’ day. The entrants in the giveaway drink an average of five and a half cups of coffee per day. Fire Department Coffee was founded by firefighters on a mission to make the easiest drinking coffee for our nation’s hard-working men and women. The founders learned while serving in the military and fire service that caffeine and good tasting coffee can be beneficial for long nights and high-octane lifestyles. To further give back, a portion of every sale goes to military and firefighter charities.
Special fire department bulk pricing is also available. Departments can use this to purchase large quantities of coffee for their members, or to use as a fundraising initiative where the department purchases the coffee using bulk pricing and then sells the single serve cups or one pound bags at regular price in the community.
